Learning goals

By the end of the course, students will have some basic understanding of gendered processes within organisation and work. Students will be able to explain the difference between gender and sex. They will be able to elaborate on the fundamental concepts of gender studies and key insights. They will be able to form questions, in order to unveil gendered processes, structures and dynamics within organisation and work.

Methods

This course will consist of synchronous and asynchronous parts as well – if the pandemic permits – in-person classes and online learning. In the synchronous, in-person sessions, the lecturer will present the key concepts and discuss them with students. Students are asked to prepare for those sessions (asynchronous part) by working through the learning material provided on moodle. Students are required to prepare some learning portfolio in group work (asynchronous part), which will be the further learning material for the course’s take home exam. Students will work with scientific papers and book chapters (guided reading) and thereby improve the basic skills for scientific work.
